More Great Information on Silver Yorkshire:

Is it rare or common to have a mainly silver yorkshire terrier?

my dogs only about 4 months old now and she was sopposed to be tan and black.
Bt at the moment shes tanned going on to light golden blonde on her face her head is complete silver slightly tipped with black,paws are tanned bums same as her face and her back is black but loads of silver is coming through is this normal to say she was sopposed to be a black and tan one when we bought her?

I'm far from an expert on Yorkies.

However, I found this on the Yorkshire Terrier Club of America, which would seem to indicate that it takes Yorkies quite a long time to get their adult coat coloring:

"The Yorkshire Terrier whose coat is of prime importance has a slow
metamorphosis from the black and tan puppy to the blue and tan adult.
Some of these dogs take three or more years for their coat to mature;
therefore our YTCA Members chose NOT to specify an age for color
maturity. Only dogs of solid color, unusual combination of colors,
and parti-colors should be disqualified. "

And from the AKC Breed Standard:

"Colors
Puppies are born black and tan and are normally darker in body color, showing an intermingling of black hair in the tan until they are matured. Color of hair on body and richness of tan on head and legs are of prime importance in adult dogs, to which the following color requirements apply: Blue: Is a dark steel-blue, not a silver-blue and not mingled with fawn, bronzy or black hairs. Tan: All tan hair is darker at the roots than in the middle, shading to still lighter tan at the tips. There should be no sooty or black hair intermingled with any of the tan."

If you bought the dog as a "Show Prospect" from a reputable breeder, consult with your breeder regarding whether this coloration is a normal phase as the pup matures or whether you are likely to have a coat color that will be DQ'd in the ring. Your contract should address whether you would be entitled to any compensation if the pup was sold as "show quality" and it turns out to be '"pet quality".
